How an air source heat pump works
Total Boilers Ltd are F-gas registered. We are accredited to ‘install, maintain or service stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and/or heat pump equipment containing or designed to contain F-Gas refrigerants.
Heat pumps naturally extract heat from the outside air (even at minus temperatures) and compress that heat to create high-level heat that can provide heat and hot water for your home.
Using the free renewable energy from the outside air, an air source heat pump is an excellent alternative to your existing gas fuelled boiler. An air source heat pump will provide a clean, green way to heat your home.

Ground source heat pumps
A ground source heat pump is an electrically powered system which uses pipes buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground to provide all the heating and hot water your home requires.
The principle is simple, and the result is low-cost, comfortable heating that uses sustainable energy and causes no direct emissions or other environmental damage. This system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home for every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the heat pumps.
Air source heat pumps
An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air like a fridge extracts heat from its inside. It can get heat from the air even when the temperature is as low as -15° C.
Air source heat pumps can be used as a complete solution for room heating, using the same distribution system as a ground source heat pump or a traditional system. They can also be used in many more applications, including large commercial projects with restricted land space.
Air source heat pumps are ideal for very tight spaces and within an eco-architectural design or a building with large internal spaces such as audience halls and public places.

What are the benefits of renewable energy solutions for homeowners?
- Lower energy bills: Renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and geothermal are free and can reduce or even eliminate your monthly energy bills.
- Increased home value: Installing renewable energy systems can add significant value to your home, as it increases its resale value due to the energy savings that come with renewable energy systems.
- Environmental benefits: Renewable energy sources reduce your carbon footprint and help to protect the environment.
- Energy independence: With renewable energy systems, you can generate your own energy and become independent from the grid, which can be especially useful during power outages.
- Tax incentives and grants: Governments, utilities, and other organizations offer tax credits and grants that can help to reduce the cost of renewable energy systems.
